About Santa Maria Church
The Santa Maria church is built in the Italian style, and is located in the centre of Rhodes Town. This is an exquisite Church, which boasts wonderful facilities. The site dates back to The Franciscans, who have been have been on the island of Rhodes since 1291, when they arrived with the Crusaders.
Father John Luke is the Vicar General and Parish Priest of the Archdiocese of Rhodes and will perform your Wedding ceremony. The Santa Maria also boasts a small but excellent choir who will sing beautifully at your wedding.
About Rhodes Town
Rhodes Town is a sophisticated city where the old and the new combine
to offer Greek tradition and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The New Town has wide, modern tree lined streets, a busy and fashionable
harbour, and a casino. From the lovely Elli beach relax and watch a
stunning Rhodian sunset, enjoy a fireworks display or just sunbathe.
The Old Town is the oldest inhabited medieval city in Europe; its
cobbled streets are bursting with colour, colourful plants and activity.
Enjoy the atmosphere of the bazaar and shopping. Try courtyard and
rooftop restaurants, or a drink in one of the stylish bars. Whatever you
do, enjoy a glass of wine at a taverna and watch life wander past.

Eros weddings are happy to advise you on the Legal Requirements for a Catholic wedding in Rhodes.
Notes
- Weddings take 45 – 50 minutes and are performed every day (except Sunday).
- Mass services are held from April to October at 7 a.m. on weekdays and at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sundays. During the winter months, both churches hold Masses only on Sundays.
- Father Luke is happy to perform baptisms the day prior to your wedding.
